While working part-time during University, our Founder, Alex Richards, discovered that he was being underpaid. Specifically, he realised that he was not being paid a laundry allowance for Saturday, Sunday, and Public Holiday shifts.
Alex was only able to identify this underpayment because of his years of experience working in the Employment Law sector. Unfortunately, most Australians don't have the tools or knowledge to deal with the complexity of Awards and Enterprise Agreements, so cannot identify whether they are being underpaid, and why.
This leads to mass underpayments across Australia. Research shows that Australians are underpaid by up to $1.3 billion each year, of which only a very small amount is recovered.
